We'd like to give a shout out to OCCHIO CAFE, an annex of the trendy OUCH MY EYE Studios. This walk-up window sidewalk cafe sits just south of downtown Seattle two blocks from Safeco Baseball Field.
OCCHIO (which means "eye" in Italian) just opened in April and proudly serves STUMPTOWN COFFEE, a Portland-Seattle based direct trade outfit that is also stirring up a local buzz, both literally & figuratively. I've personally tried the Hair Bender blend and Guatamala Santa Cruz roast and both pack a punch and are ripe with flavor integrity.
Next time you're in the vicinity of their GPS coordinates, stop by OCCHIO for a cup of bold NW java and say hello to proprietors Bob and John.

Hot brew in hand, be sure to marvel at whatever current post-modern art show may be running at their gallery. May 9-31 is the 2nd incarnation of MUPPET RAWK, a pop culture tribute to the imaginative world of Jim Henson and the art of rock album covers. From Hendrix to Beeker, Van Halen to Dr. Teeth, Muppett Rawk is sure to entertain and inspire. My personal favorite is Bert supplanted on the stark moody cover of Iron Maiden's klassic debut album, a heavy metal opus from 1980 that unleashed the songs "Phantom of the Opera," "Running Free," "Sanctuary" and "Iron Maiden".
Check out the latest entries into the MUPPET HALL OF RAWK.
